Loan Against Securities

Borrow against your shares, mutual funds or bonds without selling them.

What is a Loan Against Securities (LAS)?

A Loan Against Securities lets you borrow money by pledging investments you already own, such as shares, mutual fund units or bonds, instead of selling them. You stay invested and keep the benefit of dividends and future growth.

Key features

  • No need to sell: your investments stay in your name while they are pledged.
  • Quick funds: faster processing than most other loans, as the securities act as collateral.
  • Loan-to-value: you can borrow a portion of the value of your securities, set by the lender for each type of security.
  • Pay interest on what you use: many lenders offer LAS as an overdraft facility, so interest is charged only on the amount withdrawn.

Who is it for?

LAS suits investors who need short-term funds for business, emergencies or other needs but do not want to break their long-term investments.
